30 Weeks! Only 10 Weeks To Go!!!

I'm almost 8 Months along now, can you believe it? The 10 week countdown now begins! We are feeling the time crunch, especially with preparing her nursery. We are trying to make decisions on where to buy and how much to spend on a crib, dresser, stroller, high chair, etc. Endless decisions! Gina came with me to register this week, and we got a lot done! I couldn't have done it without her- she knew everything about every product! You can view my online baby registries here: Target and Baby's R Us. Tye has increased his "bonding" with our lil' girl by putting little speakers on my belly at bedtime and playing classical music for her to hear! He read that it stimulates brain development! How sweet is that? He also got a show last night as we sat on the couch; she kicked like crazy and we could see my belly bounce and move all around! (She's an active lil' stinker!)

I definitely feel ready to get this over with now. :) Everything's getting harder: harder to do things, move around, and dramatic mood swings that take me by surprise! (And Tye agrees!) Ha! Lastly, we have our next Dr.'s appt. tomorrow at 2:15pm. I am now going every 2 weeks! My big church shower is Oct. 11th, and our next ultrasound to see our lil' girl is Oct. 13th!

How Our Baby Girl's Growing:

Our baby's about 15.7 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will decrease as she gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. Her eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after she's born, she'll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When she does open them, she'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means she can only make out objects a few inches from her face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.) She can see light that filters through your body, and if you shine a flashlight and move it around, her eyes will follow it!
