32 Wks / 7 Wks To Go!

What a week! Our church baby shower was Sunday, and boy were we blessed! We got so many things for Mia, and it was an outstanding event with a feast, cute pink cupcakes and around 45 ladies! Thanks to my fabulous cousin Gina Greathouse, who hosted it! And all my lovely friends who helped host it got us our Baby Travel System: a Deluxe Stroller and Carseat Combo that I picked out! It's amazing and top of the line! Tye spent last night putting it together!(He's a great daddy already!) And Mom visited this week for the shower and got to see Mia on the screen at our ultrasound Tuesday! You could see her face, eyes, eyelids blinking, nose and lips! We also saw her feet, and we watched Mia shuffle her feet and kick! Now I know exactly what is happening when I feel her move all the time. :) And GREAT news, the placenta has moved up and out of the way of the cervix! This should mean a normal delivery!

How Mia's Growing: No wonder you're starting to feel huge — it's crowded in there! The growing pressure on your bladder may mean frequent trips to the loo — which can make a good night's sleep difficult. You may be gaining around 1 lb. a week now and roughly half of that goes right to Mia. In fact, she'll gain a third to half of her birth weight during the next seven weeks, fattening up for survival outside the womb. Thanks to these fatty deposits, her skin is getting plumper and looking healthier. Although her lungs won't be fully developed until just before birth, Mia is inhaling amniotic fluid to exercise her lungs and practice breathing. She is immersed in amniotic fluid, which is protecting her as he grows in the amniotic sac. Some babies have a head of hair already, others have only a few wisps. Thick hair at birth doesn't necessarily mean thick hair later on, but children with fine hair in childhood usually grow up to have fine hair too.
