Let the countdown begin! This week marks the beginning of your last month of pregnancy. By now Mia should have fully developed lungs (the better for crying with when she's born). Your baby doesn't have much room to maneuver now that she's over 18 inches long and tips the scales at 5 1/4 pounds! Because it's so snug in your womb, she isn't likely to be doing somersaults anymore, but the number of times she kicks should remain about the same. Her kidneys are fully developed now, and her liver can process some waste products. Most of her basic physical development is now complete — she'll spend the next few weeks putting on weight. She's filling out and getting rounder – she’ll need her fat layers later to regulate her body temperature. If you don't already talk to your baby, this is a good time to start – at 35 weeks her hearing is fully developed. If you've been nervous about going into premature labour, you'll be happy to know that 99 per cent of babies born at week 35 can survive outside the uterus (womb) – and most have no major problems. Although your baby's central nervous system is still maturing, her lungs are nearly fully developed by now. Dr.'s Appointment this Wednesday at 2:00pm!
Wow Julia I can't believe that you only have 6 weeks left, you look amazing! The next few weeks will go by so slow, but you and Tye enjoy your last few weeks of alone time.
